Character's Age: Canon never says, but I’d say somewhere from mid-teens to early 20’s. For specifics I’ll go with 19.

What form will your character's NV take? Maylene’s NV will look kind of like a kindle with a camera for recording, a keyboard for text, a microphone for audio, and obviously the screen would show the video.
Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities:
Conditional: If your character has no superhuman canon abilities, what dormant ability will you give them? I think I’ll give Maylene the ability to use x-ray vision! It’d be kind of an ironic power considering she usually can’t see anything, and now she’ll have the ability to see through things.
Weapons: Maylene will come equipped with two guns, as that is what she was holding right before being brought here!

There isn’t much known about Maylene’s childhood or life before being hired by Sebastian to work for the Phantomhive household other than the fact that she had been a paid sniper and, well, that’s pretty much it.
Point in Canon:
Chapter 33
Maylene is coming right smack in the middle of the fight between the Phantomhive servants and the Noah’s Ark Circus guys! Needless to say she will be in badass mode and not her typical ditsy mode for at least a few minutes of her Since she’s coming from the manga she doesn’t know Alois, Claude, or any of the other Trancy househould characters.

Character Personality:
Maylene’s role in Kuroshitsuji is largely a comic relief character, so it goes without saying that she isn’t exactly the most serious of characters, nor is she a very complex one. For a large part of the time we see her, she is only seen as acting extremely ditsy, daydreaming, or fantasizing about someone she has a crush on (most often Sebastian, though she is also seen blushing and becoming flustered when Ronald flirts with her). Although she is not stupid, Maylene does lack a substantial amount of common sense. She often makes the simplest of mistakes to make while she is cleaning (she is a maid for Ciel), mistakes that often range from misreading the label of shoe polish as furniture polish or even putting 30 cups of washing powder into the laundry without questioning why 30 cups would ever be needed.
Now, most people would become discouraged after making as many mistakes as Maylene has, but giving up is not an option for this girl. She is extremely driven and does everything asked of her to the best of her ability (which actually is a bit sad, all things considered). She knows that she isn’t exactly the greatest (or good) at her job, and still she isn’t deterred from her efforts and doing everything right so that maybe she could receive some form of praise from Sebastian.
Not only is she extremely driven when it comes to doing her job and impressing Ciel and Sebastian, but she is very loyal to them and her fellow servants. While being a maid may not seem like the ideal job for many people, for this former sniper, it is probably the best thing that could have ever happened to her. While her former job required her to be completely emotionless and alone, this job has given her friends and a chance to express herself freely; the fact that anyone would be willing to give her this chance means the world and she would never do anything to make it seem like she is ungrateful to them. It is because of this loyalty, that Maylene has no problems fighting to protect the mansion and the people who live there without regard for the dangers that it puts her in. They helped to make her life better, now it’s her turn to make their lives better with something she knows she’s good at.
With this readiness to fight for the mansion and her friends does come a seriousness that isn’t show very often; this side is so rare, in fact, that it has only come up on occasions involving the mansion coming under fire, which are not very often (or at least not shown very often). In these times she becomes extremely focused and doesn’t so much as crack a small smile when the threat of her friends being harmed is present. This isn’t a side of her she is particularly proud of, however, and does her best to never have to let it show. Instead, she prefers to show that she cares for her friends by making sure they take care of themselves and comforting them in their times of distress – sort of like a mother would do to her children.
As one can probably tell from all of this, Maylene is an extremely sentimental person. The smallest things mean the world to her and she doesn’t take anything or anyone for granted and makes sure that the people around her know that they are appreciated. Even her glasses, which are broken and make absolutely no improvement to her vision, are unbelievably important and she would never dream of giving them up. They were the first gift Ciel ever gave to her – the first give anyone has ever given to her – and it stand to reason that she would sooner fight someone to the death than give them up.

Plans? What are plans? I laugh in the face of plans.
But in all seriousness, I don’t have any concrete plan for Maylene as of yet. I do think it will be fun to play out her reaction to all the new technology, possibly breaking some of it in the process, and just developing her more in general. She doesn’t get a lot of screen time in the series, so I think it would be nice to see some more development, even if I’m the one causing it.

First Person Sample
[These aren’t the enemies she had been fighting before, nor is this where she had been fighting before, but nevertheless she is fighting these monsters here and now and there really isn’t much she can do about it. Nor is there much she can do about that NV that had been carelessly dropped at her feet without a second thought once she heard those… things coming toward her.
There are gun shots and footsteps and other such noises that indicate a struggle, but eventually the stop and make way for relative silence before a slightly whiny voice comes over the ]
O-oh no! Th-these are the glasses that Young Master gave to me! What shall I do now?
[And lo and behold, she moves the glasses at just the right angle so that the NV can get a clear picture of a sizable scratch going across the middle of one of the lenses.]
Third Person Sample
The first thing that Maylene notices when the pulling sensation dies down is the slight pain of her glasses falling down from her head and back on to the bridge of her nose. The second thing is the sudden change in surroundings and complete lack of anything familiar. Neither sat well with her nor did she understand what exactly happened to make this change occur, but one thing she did understand about it all was that she didn't like it.
Not that those things mattered quite so much at the moment. Those were the feelings of her first day her, first moments, to be more specific. Now it's the second day and she has found a familiar mansion and two familiar people as well as plenty of unfamiliar ones. She could deal with the unfamiliar people, though, and while there were two others she hoped would turn up as well, she could deal with only having Ciel and Finny. It's still better than some other situations she's been in before. This bought is honestly not that comforting, but thinking optimistically and trying to make the best of the situation certainly does make things better than thinking pessimistically.
Besides, there were so many interesting things here that they didn't have at home! So much advanced technology that would let you look up information in almost no time at all, allow you to watch moving pictures on a small, portable screen - even the cooking and cleaning supplies were different and more advanced. The idea of getting to use and learn mote about all of these things certainly did excite her quite a bit. Perhaps this would give her a chance to do her job correctly, not just correctly, perfectly! Yes, maybe this advanced technology would give her a chance to finally do something that would be worthy of Mr. Sebastian's praise once he got here (she's sure he would be here soon, Sebastian never leaves Ciel's side for very long).
The very thought of this possibility is enough to send a rush of adrenaline through her and she rushes off to begin cleaning with this new and intriguing technology - or she tries to, at least. Before she gets very far Maylene trips over some invisible object on the floor and ends up flat on her face, undoubtedly a new scratch on her glasses effectively making it that much harder to see out of (not that she could see at all to begin with). Thankfully she hadn't been holding anything when she took the spill or that would undoubtedly be smashed to smithereens. No object ever lasted long in the hands of Maylene.
She groans and pushes herself up off the floor and dusts off any dirt that may have gotten on her dress. There would probably be a bruise of some sort on her knee tomorrow. It's times like these where Maylene almost wishes she did have different glasses. Improved cleaning supplies would hardly make a difference if she couldn't see what she's doing with them and the only way to ensure that she could see would be with different glasses. Maybe even some sort of small lens that one could put into their eye and serve the same purpose as glasses without the worry of cracks or falling off. If only, if only. Either way, while those things would make life easier they wouldn't have the same sentimental value that her current glasses do and that is something she wouldn't give up for the world. She'd just have to get used to the new technology the same way she has most everything else since receiving he glasses - from a distorted and unclear point of view.
